Our most frequently asked for information: (keep in mind that the length of the tubing will make the biggest difference in reaching your first floor rooms as well as having a clear space for the tubes to come from the roof, through the second floor and the first floor ceiling.

Here is a brief outline of how our installation of products generally runs- many other conditions are possible, such as additional length of tubes.

If the roof is not too steep (walkable slope), composition shingles and the distance between the roof and ceiling is about 4 feet or less, the cost is $498.00 for a 160 DS (10"), and $625.00 for a 290 DS (14") installed within a half hour or less drive time from Portland or Salem. (steep roofs and longer distances will be discussed before priced) We also have a 21" diameter  but each installation is priced on the job site.

Add an electric light inside for night time lighting: The compact fluorescent light fixture adds $121. and the standard light fixture adds $110.00 for the 160 DS (10") Solatube; the 290 DS (14") Solatubes do not have the fluorescent fixture option, the standard fixture accepts two 100W bulbs and adds $112.00 to the cost of the product. (We also have dimmers for those rare days when you have TOO much sun...)

Multiples: When you purchase 3 or more installations at the same time, our policy is to discount $15.00 off each one.

Additional 160 DS (10") tubing is $22.00 per lineal foot; additional 290 DS (14") tubing is $29.00 per lineal foot; the 160 DS Optiview diffuser adds $23.00 each over the standard frosted diffuser; the 290 DS (14") Optiview adds $32.00.

The exhaust fan option (for laundry and bathrooms, etc.) adds $331.00 and is available only in the 160 DS (10") model.

Our Solar Star Attic Fan is totally solar powered - no electrician needed - one unit will take hot air out of an attic approximately 1,200 sq. ft. at a maximum of 800 cubic feet per minute. This product was selected by Environmental Design+Construction magazine as one of the top ten environmental products of 2005. The Solar Star sells for $520.00 installed with the same conditions mentioned above.  ( Kit price is $446 for those who wish to do their own installation)
